Patient Information

Prescriptions, referrals and medical certificates

An appointment with your doctor is required to obtain a script, medical certificate or a referral to a specialist or allied health services.

Test results and confidentiality

In order to maintain patient confidentiality, it is a requirement to make an appointment to see your doctor should you wish to discuss any test results (blood tests, scans, etc…). A part of our practice policy for communication is that doctors/ nurse are unable to provide a consultation to discuss results over the phone or via email.  A copy of your results may be faxed to your specialist upon referral by a doctor or passed on to the patient once the results have been discussed with a doctor.

Appointments

Please note that although we happily welcome walk-ins, our practice predominately runs on an appointment system.

We will do our best to ensure you are booked in at your preferred time, and we will do our best to attend to patients who require urgent care.

Fees and private consultations

Patients with a valid Medicare card will be bulk-billed for their visits. Visitors from overseas are welcome to make an appointment to see the doctor for a consultation fee of $60 per visit.

Cancellations

We understand that sometimes it is necessary to reschedule or cancel an appointment. In this case, please contact the clinic as soon as possible, sometime ahead of the appointment, and our receptionists will assist you in organising another appointment with your doctor.

After hours Care

Our patients are offered an after-hours service, should they require a doctor’s after-hours home visit urgently. Sydney Medical Service may be contacted on 1300 466 347 or alternatively, 8724 6300.

Interpreter service

Should you require an additional translator service during your appointment, our doctors have access to a telephone interpreter. However, bookings for an interpreter must be made in advance. Should you require an interpreter, please inform the receptionist when booking the appointment.

Inquiries

Our receptionists are able to take a message for your doctor and inform you of the likely time to expect a phone call. If the matter requires urgent attention, you will be transferred to a GP.

Reminder System

Our practice is committed to providing our patients with the best care possible. We now use an SMS reminder and letter system that is available to our patients to ensure that services are provided in due time.

Feedback

We encourage and welcome patient feedback, so we can continue improving our services. If you would care to provide us with any anonymous feedback or suggestions you will find a suggestion box at the reception desk
